The PS-12232 Master Display board has 3 DIP switches. For proper operation of the PS-12232-P16-R2 the switch settings are:
- Switch 1 on
- Switch 2 off
- Switch 3 off
*All products using the PS-12232 Master Display will either use two PS-DISP16 or PS-DISP14 slave displays. They come pre-assembled on the master display board, depending on the game.
**The original system used a C-8364 7-digit numeric display connected with a 20-pin ribbon cable. A design decision was made that the slave display would be a PS-10866 to maintain a uniform look for the LED segmented displays.
Installation
- Unplug the AC power from your pinball machine. Remove game backglass. Unplug all display board connecting cables and remove original display boards. You may re-use your existing ribbon cables.
- Set the switches. Remove the PS-12232 board from its package and find your game listed on the chart on the BACK of the circuit board. The 3 bank DIP switch is labeled SW2 and located near the center bottom on the FRONT of the board.
- Set the 3 switches using a paper clip or pen point. (ON is UP and OFF is DOWN). No damage will occur if the switches are not set correctly, but the display may show scrambled characters.
- Switch 1 on
- Switch 2 off
- Switch 3 off
- Mount the new boards. Hand-tighten the screws so you may align the displays with the backglass windows before permanently securing the boards. If further alignment is necessary, you may adjust the insert panel door hinges and latch in the backbox.
- Connect the cables. Not all connectors are used on all games. The ribbon cable goes to the connetor labeled MPU CABLE. The power connectors are keyed to prevent incorrect alignment. Ribbon cables are not keyed and it is possible to mis-align the connectors. Observe correct polarity on all ribbon cables - the red striped wires on all ribbon cables go to PIN #1 (also labeled as RED) on all boards.
- Double-check all connections, plug in the machine, and turn the game on. The LED’s will light up. Pressing the diagnostic pushbutton labeled SW1/DISPLAY TEST on the PS-12232 board will illuminate all segments of all displays. This indicates that all components of the PinScore™ System are operating correctly. The thumbwheel BRIGHTNESS control labeled R10 on the right side of the board allows you to set your preferred illumination level.
- Play Pinball!

Warranty
All PinScore™ display products are covered by a 5-year, transferable warranty. Should your display fail, contact your distributor for repair or replacement options. PinScore™ products will be repaired or replaced at the distributor’s discretion.
PinScore™ LED displays are a replacement product for aging pinball machines. While PinScore™ LED displays are carefully engineered to replace as many high-failure parts as possible and retain robustness, there remains a possibility that other parts of your machine may need to be repaired before your game will function correctly. These parts include but are not limited to your machine’s MPU, transformer, wiring, and fuses. The PinScore™ warranty does not cover damage caused by improper installation, faulty wiring, aftermarket game modifications, and incorrect aftermarket repairs.
